25th Email: 8th Week in Morgantown

The Morgantown Zone is doing great things. (Pretty soon Morgantown will be Mormontown ;)) A couple weeks ago we started doing this really cool thing called "paying your dues." When you pay your dues you knock on 5 random doors and then stay in that area for 30 minutes. A lot of the time as missionaries, God directs us somewhere, maybe to a particular door, not necessarily because there's someone behind that door we need to talk to, but someone next door or walking down the street who needs us. We do that 3 times a day, so a total of 1 1/2 hours. Yesterday, Sister Larkin and I were paying our dues, and we weren't having much success. No one really wanted to talk to us, we only had 5 minutes left, and it was starting to rain! Perfect! haha so we stopped and said a prayer. We asked Heavenly Father to help us find someone new to teach, because that's been something we've been struggling with lately. Guess what happened next? We knocked on one more door, his name is T--, and he wants us to come back. :D This church is true, and God is a God of miracles!! It was really neat. And so many missionaries in the zone have been telling us about their "pay your dues" miracles. It's insane! So yeah. I'm pretty excited for this transfer.

Morgantown wants it to be spring. I can tell. It's trying so hard! But it's not really working. I really can't complain though. It was almost 60 degrees the other day, and it's February! Crazy! Winter is so short here, and I've heard this is the worst winter Morgantown has had in a long time. I guess they don't usually get as much snow as they have this year. I like it though.

Anyways, I don't have much else to report, except that I love being a missionary, and I love the gospel. I love it! It's perfect and brings me peace.

Lots of Love!

24th Email: 6th Week in Morgantown

So...this week has been exciting! It's transfer week, which is always fun. So that's why I didn't email on Monday. Transfers are on Thursdays, so P-day gets pushed to Wednesday so people can pack their things if they're being transferred. But once again, the snow likes to throw things off here, so transfers got pushed to today, and then it got pushed back again, so it'll be tomorrow. So yesterday was actually P-day, but the library was closed because of the snow, so I couldn't email until today. Does that make sense? Oh, and I'm staying in Morgantown with Sister Larkin. Yay!! :) I'm really excited for this transfer. It's going to be great! Also, for some reason the library is only open until 4:00 today, and we didn't get here until 3:30, so this letter's gonna be short! But it's fine, because my next P-day is in a few days. Oh, but the library is closed on Monday too because of President's Day. So I guess I'll be emailing on Tuesday! Gah! Haha anyways, I love all of you, and I love being a missionary.

Love,
Sister Myers

P.S. T-- knows the church is true and she wants to get baptized. Life is good.

23rd Email: 5th Week in Morgantown

Hello! :) Another wonderful week has flown by. I can't believe it's almost time for transfers again! I think Sister Larkin and I will probably be staying in Morgantown, but who knows!

Well, I'm running short on time today...silly computers only let me stay on for an hour....so this'll be short today. Oh, and the Library was closed on Monday because of the snow, and we have had a CRAZY busy week, so that's why I'm emailing on a Thursday. We had a couple great lessons this week. It was so great to finally have some appointments that didn't fall through! :D We had a really fun lesson with this guy named J--. He knows the Bible really well, and we were just jumping around all over the place in the Old and New Testament while we taught the Plan of Salvation. It was so fun! I definitely want to know the Bible better than I do though. Ah! There's just so much knowledge I want to be in my brain, but I don't have the time to get it in there! I told Sister Larkin I might just stop going to bed and start studying through the night so I can read everything I want to.

Well, I hope you all have a grrreat week and remember who you are and what you stand for! Love you!

Love,
Sister Myers
