58th Email: Spiritual Feast

We had a meeting on Thursday with the north half of the mission (over 100 missionaries). We learned from our wonderful mission president and his wife, President and Sister Salisbury, and we also had the privilege of hearing from Elder Renlund of the 70 and his wife, Sister Renlund. What a spiritual feast! I learned a ton and Sister Morgan and I have already been trying to implement the things we learned into our missionary work. One principle that really stuck with me was the fact that our conversion is never stationary. Our faith is always increasing or decreasing, depending on our actions. The slope of our line of faith is never zero. This means that if we invite someone to read the Book of Mormon to increase their faith, and then we come back and they haven't opened the book at all, their faith has obviously not increased. What I didn't realize, however, is that their faith doesn't stay stagnant. If they are not acting, then their faith is decreasing. We are constantly gaining or losing light. We can never plateau! It was a really good meeting.
This week I learned from Greg Scur that you can't judge a book from it's cover. The gospel is for everyone, and anyone can change their life!
I hope everyone had a great Halloween! Sister Morgan and I dressed up as missionaries....
Love,
Sister Myers
